Lay-down tanning booths are very popular because they are known for relaxation. You can simply lay, rest, and tan in a matter of minutes. But because you are laying on acrylic, pressure points are created between the skin and the bed, which prevents the UV-rays from fully soaking into the skin. This can cause tanning creases and lighter areas under the arms, on the shoulder blades, above and below the buttocks, and more. To avoid this in a laydown bed, you need to adjust your position periodically, which is easier in a stand up booth
Stand up Booths
Stand-up booths are more spacious, letting you move freely—raise or lower your arms, bend your legs, lean, and turn your head. They use stronger bulbs, which gives a faster tan, so the tan time is shorter than some beds. This is good if you don’t want to stay in a tanning bed too long. The lamps have special reflectors that spread light evenly, helping to avoid tanning lines and missed spots like shoulder blades, underarms, lower back, and under the buttocks.
